We Have (5) Positions Available

Sunrise recently received grant funding from the Vermont Department of Labor, and our 5 STAR and NAEYC accredited Early Care and Education (ECE) Program has an opening for two paid Interns!

Interested candidates must have a high school diploma and be actively pursuing a career in the early education field. Ideal candidates will be dedicated, passionate, professional, and eager to work as needed with children ranging in age from 6 weeks to three years old. Candidates must be reliable, able to maintain confidentiality, and work well in a team environment. The Intern will follow a full time, 40-hour-work-week schedule, for 10 weeks, and will have to pass a background check and get their fingerprinting done before starting work (costs will be covered by Sunrise). Week 5 of the Internship will be dedicated to mandatory professional development training. Training will include CPR Certification, Mandatory Reporter Training, and CDD Orientation Training through the State of Vermont. These trainings are relevant and currently required for all Vermont early education/child care centers, and will be paid for by Sunrise (a $95 value!). Once trainings are completed, the Intern will then go back into the classrooms for weeks 6-10. (There is no guarantee that Interns will be offered full time employment with Sunrise at the end of the Internship.)

As an Intern at Sunrise, you can expect that existing staff members will share their knowledge and expertise and support you as you navigate your new position. Our ECE Director will be your mentor and will conduct weekly supervision time with you. Supervision time will allow you to voice your questions and/or concerns, while receiving valuable feedback, to ensure you learn as much as possible during your Internship. You will also be expected to participate in departmental and agency-wide events, such as weekly ECE Staff Meetings and monthly All Agency Staff Meetings. You will be paid at a rate of $15 per hour, and no benefits will be offered during your Internship.
