We Have (2) Positions Available

Sunrise Family Resource Center seeks a Teacher/Coordinator for our Learning Together Program. Learning Together is an alternative high school completion program for teens and young parents, providing group and individualized instruction to pregnant and parenting youth. Students receive their diploma from Mt. Anthony Union High School upon graduation.

The Learning Together Teacher/Coordinator is responsible for implementation of individualized curricula for 6-15 students, supervision of any teaching staff, and coordination with the local high school. In addition, the Teacher/Coordinator organizes on and off site work placements for each student enrolled in the program. The Teacher/Coordinator teaches in the program, offering instruction in core high school subjects and prepares older students for college entrance exams.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or higher; teaching licensure preferred, but if no license the candidate must be qualified in at minimal 2 core subject areas (English, History, Mathematics, Science, Geography, Psychology, etc.). Three to five years teaching experience or experience coordinating a program that serves at risk youth.

We seek an energetic, empathetic, confident, organized individual who possesses an understanding of the effects of poverty and trauma on individuals; a professional who has demonstrated an ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and to think creatively. Equally important: exceptional classroom management skills balanced with a compassionate nature and experience with at risk youth. Excellent written and oral communication skills and good boundaries are a must.

Our licensed, NAEYC accredited, 5 STAR Early Care and Education Program at Sunrise Family Resource Center is looking for a full-time early education long-term substitute teacher. We are seeking a committed professional who has experience with children ages 6 weeks to three years who loves to get down on the floor to play and appreciates that early childhood is a messy business.

The ideal candidate will be able to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment, have knowledge of trauma-informed practices, work well in a team atmosphere and provide education and support to parents.

Bachelor's or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) and experience working with young children and their parents preferred. Strong organizational skills a must. Knowledge of the philosophy and strength-based values of family centered services and early childhood education is an important part of this rewarding work.
