Families on the Move
Sunrise received grant funding to create a pilot program, to support families on their paths to realizing “transportation independence”. Through this funding, we can assist with driver's education, permits and licenses, car registrations and inspections, repairs and maintenance, and insurance.
Those seeking assistance through this program should reach out directly to our Transportation Coordinator, Alisha Gulley. As a part-time employee, Alisha's hours are Tuesday through Thursday, from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. Alisha can be reached at (413) 663-1577 or by

agulley@sunrisepcc.com. Interested individuals must complete an application for assistance.
Applications can be
found HERE or by visiting the main office at 244 Union Street, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Completed applications can be emailed to Alisha or turned in at the main office. Priority will be given to families receiving Medicaid and applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, by the Sunrise "Families on the Move" team. Alisha will contact applicants and schedule an initial meeting to discuss current situations, including budgetary restrictions and limitations.
Sunrise has also partnered with Green Mountain Express through this grant to offer a "Family Support Shuttle". This personalized service offers any individual or family in the community trips to and from Bennington grocery stores, food shelves, and/or laundry mats. This free service is available two days per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 10 am-2 pm. [Please call Green Mountain the day ahead to plan your trip! (802) 447-0477.] Sunrise can also supply a free shopping trolley to those riding the bus, with funding provided by the Vermont Foodbank. Please call the Sunrise main office to inquire about receiving a trolley.
Individuals and/or businesses interested in donating to the "Families on the Move" program, including raising funds for vehicle purchases, should call the main office to learn how they can contribute.
